Back on the road again!
So, I am finally back on the road again. And let me tell you, it feels great!
I left Homer middle of last week, to go to Seward as a final goodbye to Alaska. I traveled with Nick, our mormon cook (yes, a dutch narcoleptic metalhead and a mormon cook ) for a few days and we had a blast!
We did one of those horribly touristy glacier cruises the first day. The beautiful things we saw more than made up for the touristy-ness (?) of it all: orca’s swimming and hunting in front of the boat, humpback whales and a thundering glacier calving off into the sea. Oh yeah, and the amazing scenery that we had almost become used to by now
The next day we hiked up teh Exit Glacier to the edge of teh Harding Ice Field. An amazing hike, even though it climbs a staggering 1000 feet every mile (that is 190 meters / kilometer 😉 ) We saw a black bear cross the trail only 10 meters away from us. Considering black bears are the most dangerous bears in Alaska, that was pretty exciting I can tell you!
After we were done hiking, we had to hitchhike to Anchorage to meet Mandie, and then drive to Palmer to meet Ken. Both Ken and Mandie will be my hitchhiking partners for the next couple of days/weeks. OF course things went horribly wrong (good sign for things to come 😉 ) and we ended up staying teh night in Anchorage with Mandie and Nick, while Ken made it all teh way to Palmer. Fun nonetheless though
For all you blog addicts: I am traveling again, which means more frequent updates. stay tuned!
Zwarte beer!? :O
Jeetje, je had wel dood kunnen zijn!
Maar wel mooie ervaring lijkt me, ben toch wel enigszins jaloers.
Je krijgt een kopje van Doerak!

Hey flying dutchman!
Good to hear such good news! Hope you enjoy a lot it. * About the bear, do you really think he would like to taste the metalhead + mormon cook mix? Don’t fell lucky, just disgusting (for bears)! hahahahaha.
Até mais, de Belo Horizonte! (Man, I’m working at a new place now, I just got a tell ya how amazing is the view of the city that I have from my desk, I’m working near that big tower now).

Could you give us bearless and icefree people at home a clue to where you are heading?? That is, provided you know it yourself.
