Preparing for the future

I am more than halfway through my time in Brasil, and I have been away from home for more than 6,5 months. It is becoming apparent to me that my new life is so much more interesting, challenging and rewarding than my old life in Holland (not that i didn’t like that, au contraire!). That is why I have decided not to return home anytime soon. I still have no planned end date. The maximum for now is august of 2009, so I can attend the wedding of my good friends Ewoud and Irene. Of course I am no walking bank, so it is time for me to start thinking about the future, and how I am going to pay for my life on the road. Sit tight and follow the jump to read about my plans, you’re gonna be surprised :)

A few days later someone on the team canceled, so Felipe asked me if I wanted to participate as a registered trekker. I was a little afraid that I would not be physically fit enough for the challenge, but I accepted anyway. Follow the jump to read more about the adventure we had…

How could I forget to write about this happening? Since I am in Brasil for three months on March 8th, I had to get my extension for my visa last week. Even though I knew it wasn’t going to be a big deal, visa stuff always makes me nervous. What if teh person behind the counter has a bad day or is some kind of Gestapo-type of figure?
